ZaMZaM Arts presents:

The Gilgamesh Project featuring
Kinan Azmeh and Kevork Mourad

The current unrest in the seat of the world’s oldest civilization inspired Kinan Azmeh and Kevork Mourad to explore the oldest known work of literature, The Epic of Gilgamesh. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a lush story rich in meaning, romance, and humor about one man’s search for peace and his place in the world. The story begins with King Gilgamesh, surveying his Kingdom of Uruk (now Iraq) some 5000 years ago….

Come enjoy a very unusual performance art piece as Kinan Azmeh and Kevork Mourad retell the Epic of Gilgamesh through live original music and live illustrations projected on a big screen. The world’s oldest known epic will be brought to life in the present: through new musical forms, and through a new form of visual art exploring the permanence of lines on paper in the impermanence of projection.
